Nine good years have passed after Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Jab We Met’ (2007) released; the last film to feature Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan as a couple. Abhishek Chaubey’s ‘Udta Punjab’ brought the former lovebirds together in one story, but not in the same frame. Throughout the promotional phase of the film, the two were spotted maintaining a very reserved behaviour towards each other, with almost nil conversation. However, when asked if she is okay to work with Shahid in future, Kareena gives a positive nod.
“Of course we will be comfortable. I don’t know why people assume that we will feel awkward. When I said yes to this film, I didn’t know that Shahid was in this movie. I read the script and agreed to do it. I will continue to do that, irrespective of such reasons. If there is a great script, may be we will work together in the future. I have worked with nearly every actor in the industry,” she says.
That is interesting. Shahid and Kareena’s chemistry in ‘Jab We Met’ was lovely, though they never came together again after their separation. They also appeared in films like ‘Fida’ and ‘Chupke Chupke’ together, which were box office failures but we loved them both.
Here’s hoping some great story binds them again.
