Kareena Kapoor opens up on the truth of her reported ‘catfight’ with Priyanka Chopra

For the longest time in Bollywood, actresses were always pitted against each other. Catfights and insecurities often came up in discussions on two actresses. Kareena Kapoor also faced the same with Priyanka Chopra. The two worked together in Aitraaz and there were reports of them being in a catfight. Now, Kareena has finally opened up on the same.

In the 90s, the work culture was such that actresses were always assumed to be at loggerheads. During an interview with Mid-Day, Kareena gave her opinion on the same. She said, “Oh God! The ’90s were full of it, the ’90s started, and in 2000, everyone was having a catfight. Kuch bhi bol do and catfight. (Say anything, and it is reported as a catfight).”

Ever since Kareena and Priyanka worked together in Aitraaz, there had been reports of a cold war between them. In the early 2000s, there were reports of a ‘catfight’ between them in Antwerp while they were traveling for a concert. Kareena addressed the same as well during the interview.

Revealing the truth of the infamous ‘catfight’, Kareena informed it was all made up. She said, “No, no, no, all rubbish. I was like, what is going on? But I think maybe we all had that energy- you know, some sort of thing where we were all wanting to just prove ourselves. But I don’t think that attitude lasted, and you kind of learn through that.”

While the rumours of their feud always did rounds, the actresses dismissed those rumours with their joint appearance on Koffee With Karan a few years back. Kareena and Priyanka exhibited some amazing camaraderie. The audience loved the spark between them.

On the professional front, Kareena recently made her OTT debut with Jaane Jaan. Up next, she has her maiden production venture, The Buckingham Murders, in which she also stars. She has The Crew with Tabu and Kriti Sanon as well. As for Priyanka, she has Heads Of State with John Cena and Idris Elba. She is also going to star with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif in Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa.
