The enigmatic ‘Zubeidaa’
Karisma’s luminous beauty, her enigmatic vintage look and the volumes of emotions conveyed through her eyes in the movie ‘Zubeidaa’ took her performance beyond what words can say. But even today, every time we get glimpses of the actress in ethnic wear, we can’t help but fall in love with her eternal Zubeidaa-esque charm all over again.
Her fatal charm still remains
The actress may have dipped a toe in unknown waters of fashion today and stepped out of her comfort zone, but no matter what she wears, the magnetism of her personality remains. For the much-publicised wedding of Mohit Marwah recently, Karisma wore a traditional white and gold embroidered lehenga by Manish Malhotra with dainty drop earrings and hair tied back in a bun. The look might be more refined in comparison to Zubeidaa, but the air of elegance and innocence is unmistakable.
Those rebellious eyes…
Karisma made all of our floral dreams come true when she made a head-turning appearance in a lehenga choli at The Lakme Fashion Week 2018. Don’t those wavy tresses, the pastel hues and rebellious eyes still remind us of the young, dreamy Zubeidaa who’s desperately seeking love?
Elegance personified
There aren’t many actresses who can pull off such an understated saree like a dream. Ah, and that gajra, braided updo and jhumkas! She’s mesmerising.
The eternal diva
Karisma is a dream blend of confidence and coyness. Those exquisite baubles, that graceful zari saree and the melancholic gaze (or is it just our hysterical mind?) make us nostalgic about the movie’s haunting yet moving song ‘So gaye hain, kho gaye hain dil ke afsaane’.
There are some on-screen characters that secretly manage to linger on in our minds, forever and ever! And Karisma Kapoor’s titular role in the movie ‘Zubeidaa’ has got to be one of them. (Also read: Kareena, Karisma and others come together to celebrate Papa Randhir Kapoor’s birthday.)
