Karisma teaches us how to make lehenga-style suits work for casual functions

Just take a gander at this star. She’s everything minus the cliché B-Town jazz and hullabaloo. Doesn’t she add a fresh take on run-of-the-mill styles? Sometimes, she could be wearing the most lacklustre or unflattering outfits, but her poise and deep blue eyes make up for just about everything.

The lady has been busy these days and spotted at house parties, Ambani’s Ganpati pooja and then recently at bestie Malaika Arora’s house for a hearty Onam lunch with her favourite people. Her outfits are soothing to the eyes, to say the least. What really captivated us were her lehenga style suits that are minimalist and still ‘wow’! While many tinsel town divas may have hinted at the lehenga suit’s trend, Karisma Kapoor just sped up the process in her usual understated ways. Karisma opted for this Ridhi Suri ensemble for Malaika’s Onam lunch party and cured our weekday woes. She’s wearing this flowy yellow knee-length kurta, matching skirt with a slim silver border, and ivory dupatta dotted with canary-hued yellow blooms. And don’t let the pastel hues fool you. The stunning, easy breezy number looks light as air and we are already trying to find a dupe for this number (seriously). How comfy it looks on a humid, sunny day in Mumbai! Karisma accessorised the look with nothing but lovely gold jhumkas, a white potli bag and bright pink lips. We also love how the green bindi complements her makeup.

Straight fit skirts are a lot in fashion these days and we think it’s a cool idea to team up knee-length kurtis with them. Earlier, Karisma was also seen at a traditional event in this pretty skirt-style suit with shimmery jootis that take the look a notch higher. She’s seen wearing this white Surily Goel ensemble with a multicoloured border and hints of pink flowers all over. The lady has again opted for a huge pink bindi (we totally love) and bright pink lips to complete the look. She has only chosen single bangles in both hands so that the outfit takes centre stage.
