Kartik Aaryan is all praise for Deepika Padukone as she visits JNU students

Deepika Padukone recently visited the Jawaharlal Nehru University to extend her support to its assaulted students. The ‘Chhapaak’ actress has been applauded widely for taking such a bold step and standing up against the atrocities. Several Bollywood celebs praised the leggy beauty for her courage. Kartik Aaryan too was all praise for the ‘Chhapaak’ actress and expressed his disdain and sorrow about this whole situation.

Talking to Bollywood Hungama, Kartik said, “I respect what Deepika did yesterday and I hope a lot of people would stand up and a lot of citizens should come ahead and talk about it. Strict actions are needed. The way these things are happening, this is not our country, these things should not happen here. I really hope strict actions are taken.”

Kartik further added, “I saw the video and the way they entered the campus or the video in which JNUSU president Aishe Gosh was seen with blood streaming down her face after the attack…again, it makes you…I just think this is a really bad atmosphere right now and it is necessary to take action.”

On Sunday night, JNU students and teachers were attacked on campus by a masked mob. The mob injured around 35 people including JNU students’ Union president Aishe Ghosh.

Other actresses such as Sonakshi Sinha also praised Deepika. Sonakshi wrote, “No matter which political party you support,do u support violence?Don’t visuals of bleeding students and teachers shake you up?We can’t sit on the fence any longer.Kudos to @deepikapadukone for showing up,& all those who spoke for speaking up.This is not the time to stay quiet.”
