Kartik Aaryan starrer Aashiqui 3 is NOT a remake of Baseraa, T-series issues statement

Kartik Aaryan is currently one of the busiest actors f B-town. While the actor is currently working on Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the audience is also excited to see him in Aashiqui 3. A few days back, rumours were rife that the romantic film has tentatively been titled Tu Aashiqui Hai and it is a remake of Rekha’s cult film Baseraa. Later, a legal notice was issued to the team by Ramesh Behl’s family. Now, T-series have issued a statement clarifying Kartik Aaryan starrer Aashiqui 3 is not a remake of Baseera.

T-series team react to Aashiqui 3 being a remake of Baseera

Contrary to the circulating information, a T-Series spokesperson asserts that there is no plan to remake the movie “Baseraa.” They said, “We would like to clarify, we are not making a remake of Baseraa movie; these are rumors, baseless and false news. We will also be replying to the notice received. The focus of T-Series remains on delivering quality music and entertainment to our audience, and we have no plans to deviate from that mission.”

For those unversed, Baseraa released in 1981 and starred Shashi Kapoor, Rakhee, and Rekha in lead roles.

About Aashiqui 3

In December 2023, we reported that Aashiqui 3 to go on floors in 2024.  The film will be directed by Anurag Basu and produced by Mukesh Bhatt and Bhushan Kumar. It is thee third instalment of 1990 ilm Aashiqui which starred Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal. The second film, Aashiqui 2 came many years later in 2013 and it starred Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor.
