Kartik Aaryan to star in Anurag Basu’s Aashiqui 3: ‘I feel privileged yet grateful’

Actor Kartik Aaryan is on a roll post the success of his last release Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The actor with many lucrative projects in his kitty has now bagged the third instalment of the epic romantic film Aashiqui. Aashiqui 3 will be helmed by Anurag Basu, the makers are yet to reveal details about the film’s leading lady. Kartik made the big announcement with a social media post.

Kartik Aaryan took to Instagram and shared the update about featuring in Aashiqui 3 writing, “Team ‘A’ ❤️?#AnuragBasu #Pritam#BhushanKumar #MukeshBhatt ??”

In an interview with Variety, the actor said, “The timeless classic ‘Aashiqui’ is something I grew up watching and working on ‘Aashiqui 3’ is like a dream come true. I feel privileged yet grateful for collaborating with Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt for this opportunity. I’ve been a big fan of Anurag Basu’s work and collaborating with him on this one will definitely shape me in many ways.”

On the work front, Kartik Aaryan recently started shooting for another romantic outing, ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’, co-starring Kiara Advani. He also has ‘Shehzada’, ‘Freddy’ and ‘Captain India’ in the pipeline.

Aashiqui (1990) backed by T-Series and Vishesh Films was helmed by Mahesh Bhatt. Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal played the lead roles. The film was a huge success and its songs continue to rule hearts. The franchise was revived in 2013 with Aashiqui 2, directed by Mohit Suri and starring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur. This too was a huge hit at the box office.
