Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK stalwart M. Karunanidhi is no more. Kauvery Hospital announced on Tuesday evening in a statement which read as, “With deep anguish, we announce the demise of our beloved Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi at 6.20 p.m. Despite the best possible efforts by a team of doctors and nurses to resuscitate him, he failed to respond.”
Karunanidhi, 94, was admitted to the hospital on July 28 and his condition worsened on Monday. Many politicians and celebrities have expressed anguish over his death. Celebrities like Riteish Deshmukh, Rajinikanth and Adnan and others have tweeted their condolence.
