A couple of weeks back, the trailer launch of ‘Raabta’ made headlines for a rather unpleasant reason. Lead actor Sushant Singh Rajput got into a heated argument with a senior journalist as she asked his opinion on Kulbhushan’s Jadhav’s death sentense in Pakistan.
A number of B-townies took to Twitter to express their anguish over the Indian national being arrested in Pakistan for charges of spying and terrorism. But Sushant chose to remain silent and said he was not fully aware of the issue. This probably didn’t go down well with the journalist, as she thought such a vital issue demanded everyone to have an opinion about it. This was followed by a mild war of words. Now, Sushant has found a supporter in Katrina Kaif, who thinks it is not necessary for a celebrity to have an opinion about everything. “The answer for me is, no. For some people it might be yes. It’s not necessary for me to have an opinion on everything. You might be right or I might not agree with your opinion, but why can’t I not have an opinion? I’m not well informed about half the things that go on in the world. Until I really want to sit down and do my research, I’d rather not say anything that I’m not sure about. If you are going to speak your mind on any sensitive topic, then by all means, have all the information available,” she told HT, during an interview.
Many a times, celebrities have been mercilessly trolled after coming up with wrong (or may be unplanned) answers. We can’t really blame them if they refuse to answer a question without adequate knowledge!
