And the moment has come. Looks like it’s a high moment for Akshay Kumar as right after announcing that his movie ‘PadMan’ would come a day early on January 25, now we have the confirmation that his movie ‘Kesari’ has started rolling. Producer Karan Johar took to Twitter to announce the same.
He said, “The #KESARI journey begins today!!! Directed by ANURAG SINGH and @akshaykumar leads the cast of this brave and epic film! @DharmaMovies @apoorvamehta18”
It’s interesting the way the logo is there in three languages; English, Hindi, and Punjabi. We hope it garners love all across.
But, but, but, there’s more. Akshay has revealed his look from the movie and it is nothing short of amazing. He looks every bit a sardar, the brave Sikh who led the Battle. Reportedly, he would be playing Havildar Ishar Singh, the man who was leading the famous battle.
Feeling nothing but immense pride and gratitude while sharing this. Beginning my 2018 with #KESARI, my most ambitious film and a lot of passion. Need your best wishes as always ?? @dharmamovies@iAmAzure @SinghAnurag79 pic.twitter.com/NOQ5x7FKRK

‘Kesari’ is a period movie based on the legendary Battle of Saragarhi. The movie was announced last year when Salman Khan, along with Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar had tweeted the same with a picture. However, Khan later opted out of it, thus leaving us uncertain of the future of the project.

However, they indeed were going ahead with the movie and that was sealed with the official announcement of it at the end of last year, sans Salman.

Well, we are certainly waiting for this one.
Akshay is quite a busy man. Apart from ‘Kesari’, the actor is going to kickstart his 2018 with ‘PadMan’ in January, and ‘2.0’ with superstar Rajinikanth in April. Also, he has movies like ‘Gold’ and ‘Mogul’ coming up which are based on real-life incidents.
