About War 2
Previous reports from Pinkvilla have also confirmed that Anil Kapoor will join the cast of War 2. This film marks the sixth entry in the YRF Spy Universe. It follows prominent titles like Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3. The post-credits scene from Tiger 3 hinted at Hrithik’s return as Kabir in this sequel.
Unlike the first instalment directed by Siddharth Anand, Ayan Mukerji is at the helm for this sequel. The movie is slated to release on August 14, 2025, just ahead of India’s Independence Day.
A source informed Pinkvilla, “Ayan Mukerji and Aditya Chopra have put significant effort into refining the script of War 2, ensuring it stands apart from other films in the YRF Spy Universe. This sequel is poised to be an action spectacle with a darker, grittier tone, as suggested by Kabir’s post-credit scene.”
Jr NTR is rumoured to portray the villain. In a recent interview, he shared that his acting techniques differ from Ayan’s directorial style. “When I was shooting for War 2, Ayan had no idea what was going to transpire. He was trying to draw out my performance,” he remarked during an interaction with Karan Johar.
