The sequel of 2013 film ‘Bombay Talkies’ is slowly shaping up. Four acclaimed filmmakers namely Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar, Dibakar Banerjee and Zoya Akhtar have reunited for the film. We hear they are chalking things out. But the interesting bit is, KJo this time will experiment with comedy.
Karan, who plans to make his portion an out-and-out comedy, has roped in Vicky Kaushal for the same. While the director-producer belongs to pure mainstream commercial cinema, Vicky is earning name and fame in content-driven films. Their association, therefore, is an interesting one. “The series will be an out and out comedy where Karan will unleash his creativity to the brim. Karan approached Vicky after seeing the rushes of ‘Raazi’ and after giving screen test Vicky was selected to play the main lead. The final paperwork is yet to take place next week,” a source says.
Comedy is also a genre none of the two has earlier worked in. The film is going to be produced by Ashi Dua and presented by Ronnie Screwvala.
At present, Vicky is prepping up for Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Uri’, based on surgical strike undertaken by India on the neighbouring country.
