Kabir Khan has emerged as one of the most sought after directors of Bollywood today, thanks to his impeccable style of filmmaking and his good track record of movies at the box office.
The director was a documentary filmmaker for years before he ventured into Bollywood film. Kabir’s films are an amalgamation of realistic and commercial cinema. (Also Read: Kabir Khan spills the beans over Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo in Salman Khan’s ‘Tubelight’)
When asked about the secret behind his filmmaking success, Kabir says, “I keep watching films all the time so it’s very tough to make a choice but if you want to know which film has made a big impact on me, at a certain age, I would say ‘The Killing Fields’. I was very young when I watched it. It’s a true story and amazing story of human relationships treated larger than life against a political backdrop and I loved it. That zone has impacted me even in my filmmaking — so what I am trying to do, is put a real political context in my films against the story of human relationships, whether it’s a ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ or ‘New York’ or ‘Tubelight’.”
The first poster of Kabir’s next venture ‘Tubelight’ released recently, featuring Salman Khan and has made everyone even more curious for the film.
