Koffee With Karan 7: Akshay Kumar reveals what he would do if Chris Rock made a joke about Twinkle Khanna

The upcoming episode of Koffee With Karan 7 will have guests Akshay Kumar and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The promo video of the episode has been shared on Tuesday (July 19) on social media. In the promo, host Karan Johar asks Akshay Kumar, “If Chris Rock made a joke about Tina (Twinkle Khanna), what would you do?” To which Akshay replies, “I would pay for his funeral.”

For the unversed, Karan’s question was with reference to the most talked-about Oscars 2022 incident that created a controversy. Will Smith and Chris Rock were all over the media.

From the promo, the upcoming episode seems to be filled with laughter and fun.

Chris Rock and Will Smith grabbed the headlines on the 94th Academy Awards for all the wrong reasons. Chris made a GI Jane 2 joke about Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett having a shaved head (hair-loss condition alopecia). The King Richard actor got infuriated and went on to the stage and slapped Chris Rock and returned to his seat and yelled, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f*****g mouth.”

Later, Will Smith apologised to the Academy and the nominees. A few days later, he also posted a public apology on Instagram, addressing Chris Rock, the Williams family and the Academy. He has been banned from attending the Oscars for the next 10 years.

Coming back to KWK 7, the first episode aired on July 7 on Disney+Hotstar. Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt graced the couch while the second episode saw Bollywood besties Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor.
