Kriti Sanon makes a STUNNING revelation on pay disparity

We are living in the 21st century and women are slowly but steadily are getting their rightful place in the society. The good old Bollywood is also changing its mindset with times. It is looking to break stereotypes for female actresses. Now, actress Kriti Sanon has spoken about a relevant issue regarding pay disparity in the industry.

On male actors being paid more than their female counterparts in films, Kriti told news agency IANS, “I’ve always believed that pay has to be decided on the amount of work that you put in a film and the numbers your films drive at the box office. The situation is slowly but steadily balancing out where female actors are also getting their monetary due. But we still have a long way to go.”

The ‘Heropanti’ actress also appreciated that women are now getting powerful roles to play in the films and said, “It’s the best time for women in cinema and we have the audience to thank for that. They have been accepting of stories around female protagonists that are today drawing in figures on par with top male stars. The content has today become the king and the deciding factor, which is great.”

Kriti Sanon has hit the nail on the head and it is high time that female actresses should be paid on par with their male counterparts.
