Kriti Sanon to step into Meena Kumari’s shoes for Manish Malhotra directorial debut

If reports are to be believed, Kriti Sanon might play Meena Kumari in her biopic to be directed by ace designer Manish Malhotra.

According to the reports, the biopic is said to be a tribute to legendary actress Meena Kumari. Apart from Manish Malhotra directing it, it is said that the yet-to-be-titled project will be produced by Bhushan Kumar. Reportedly, Kriti has been approached to play the role. That’s not all, it is also said that the biopic is currently in the scripting stage.

Neither Kriti nor Manish has reacted to the reports.

Meena Kumari was one of the most loved actresses in the industry. She began her acting journey at the age of four. Over the years, she featured in movies like Adhuri Kahani, Pooja, Face, and Ek Hi Bhool. For the uninitiated, she passed away at age of 38.

On the other hand, Kriti was last seen in Om Raut’s Adipurush co-starring Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, Sunny Singh and Devdatta Nage. Despite negative reviews, Adipurush did well at the box office.

Kriti Sanon’s upcoming movies

The actress will be next seen in the action thriller Ganapath I. The upcoming film also stars Tiger Shroff and Amitabh Bachchan. Ganapath I releases on 20^th October, 2023. Apart from this, Kriti also has The Crew with Tabu and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Fans are beyond excited to see Tabu, Kriti and Kareena onscreen together. For the uninitiated, The Crew is slated to release on 22^nd March, 2024.

Last month, Kriti announced her own production house ‘Blue Butterfly Films’. Post that, Kriti announced her first film titled ‘Do Patti’ under her production house. Kriti, who is also starring in it, will be seen sharing screen space with Kajol in the same. The upcoming project will release on Netflix.
