Noted playback singer Kumar Sanu feels today’s films have good music but the lyrics are getting vulgar and big stars should refrain from doing it.
“Music is good but the lyrics are not. Lyrics of some songs are vulgar… I feel they are not good for the society.
People often look up to actors. It is not right on their part to do songs, whose lyrics are not good,” Sanu said.
“Actors have social responsibility… They should not encourage these things. One should not promote lyrics that are vulgar,” the 58-year-old music veteran added.
Actresses like Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and Priyanka Chopra have turned singers but Sanu does not call it a new trend.
“It is ok… It is not a new thing. Earlier also this used to happen. They all are good,” Sanu said.
Sanu, who has sung several chartbusters like “Dheere Dheere Se”, “Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin”, “Yeh kaali kaali Aankhen”, “Chura ke Dil Mera”, “Tujhe Dekha Toh Yeh Jana Sanam” will perform live today at Phoenix Marketcity, Kurla, here.
“We do shows often but mostly they are out of Mumbai.
This show is in Mumbai, closer to my home so accepted the offer,” he added.
