Actor Kunal Kapoor has signed Malayalam filmmaker Jayaraj’s next where he plays an warrior. It is a trilingual film titled ‘Veenam’ which is based on William Shakespeare’s famous play ‘Macbeth’. Reportedly, the film extensively deals with Kalaripayatuu, which is a form of martial art.
The’ Aja Nachle’ actor was last seen in Nila Madhab Panda’s ‘Kaun Kitne Paani Mein’. Kunal had expressed his desire to work in an action film long ago. “It’s an interesting story about bravery, lust, greed and power. It is centered on this warrior who prophesises that he will be king one day. It’s every actor’s dream to play Macbeth and I had wanted to do an action film for a long time so when I was offered this one, I immediately jumped on board”- he stated.
Learning martial art is another interesting part about the film. “I have been training with a Kalaripayattu expert from Kerala since the last three months. I had a great time learning it,”- he added.
The film goes on the floor sometime this week.
