Kusha Kapila admits to being ‘100 percent bullied’ into announcing her divorce with ex-husband Zorawar Ahluwalia

Kusha Kapila is on a professional high at the moment. The social media celebrity turned actor has given two films recently- Sukhee and Thank You For Coming. However, even though her professional life is booming, she has had some challenging times personally. A few months ago, Kusha Kapila announced her divorce with ex-husband Zorawar Ahluwalia. And now she has revealed how she was bullied into sharing that news with the world.

Kusha Kapila on being ‘bullied’ into sharing news of her divorce

Kusha was present at the India Today Conclave where she opened up on her divorce. She revealed that she was actually bullied into sharing her personal news with the world. She said, “I was honestly bullied into sharing my personal news. This is the first time I’m sharing that. I was 100% bullied into sharing it.” However, Kusha feels glad to be able to do it on her own terms. She added, “I did not want anyone else sharing information about my life with the world, without consulting with me first. You have to put on blinders.”

The news of her divorce brought in a lot of hatred, trolling and critique for Kusha. When asked about how she handles social media trolls, Kusha Kapila said, “I actually allot a certain time of the day to crying and feeling bad about it. I give it exactly half an hour, and then I move on with my life. There’s so much to do.”

Kusha’s divorce with Zorawar

It was on June 26 that Kusha and Zorawar shared the news of their divorce on social media. Kusha had released a statement reading, “Zorawar and I have mutually decided to part ways. This hasn’t been an easy decision by any measure but we know it’s the right one at this point in our lives. The love and life we have shared together continues to mean everything for us, but sadly, what we seek currently for ourselves doesn’t align. We gave it our all, until we couldn’t anymore.”

A while ago, Kusha had opened up about receiving hatred online for her separation. She shared how people (especially men) have been putting ‘unkind comments’ for her. And while she thought of naming and shaming them, it’s the support of her fans that made her realise her privilege. Post her separation, Kusha Kapila was rumoured to be dating actor Arjun Kapoor. These stories came amidst Arjun and Malaika Arora’s breakup reports. However, the couple proved the stories wrong and are still going strong together.
