Karan Johar is one of those celebs in Bollywood who always endsup making the headlines but for all the wrong reasons. The filmmaker’s popular chat show has turned into a controversial one when cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul appeared in it. Their racist and sexist comments on the show created a huge outrage and soon, their episode was pulled down from an OTT platform.
Despite apologising, both Hardik and Rahul were suspended for a few matches by the BCCI. Though the suspension was lifted later, it seems like they were not the only one who ended up damaging their career. Looks like the controversy has cost the show one of its biggest sponsorship by Google Home.
As per a report in Mysmartprice, Google Home might have pulled out of the show due to racism and sexist comments made on it by the guests. Though there’s has been no official clarification about the same but the controversy perhaps can be one of the reasons behind the sponsor pulling out.
Earlier, in the title slate of the show, it used to appear like – “Google Home together with Koffee with Karan”.
However, now Google Home’s name is missing from the show’s title slate. You can check it out in the following screenshot.
Also, recently a case was registered against Karan Johar, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul in Jodhpur following the controversy. Looks like it will take a long time before things settle for the makers as well as the guests of ‘Koffee With Karan’.
