Lagaan actor Javed Khan Amrohi passes away at 60

Actor Javed Khan Amrohi who has done notable films with Shah Rukh Khan in Chak De India, Aamir Khan in Lagaan and many others has departed for his heavenly abode. Javed Khan died at the age of 60 on February 14 after reportedly suffering from breathing problems. As per the reports, he was bedridden for the past year and was undergoing treatment.

“Javed was suffering from breathing ailment and was bedridden for the past one year. He was undergoing treatment at Surya Nursing Home,” filmmaker Ramesh Talwar told PTI after Javed Khan died. “He passed away at the hospital around 1 pm as both his lungs failed,” he added.

Right after his death, actor Akhilendra Mishra took to Facebook to mourn the loss. He wrote, “Humble tribute Javed Khan sir. Best actor, senior artist, active member of IPTA.“

Fans of Javed Khan Amrohi have even penned their heartfelt condolence note on Twitter. One said, “Thank you for entertaining us in small yet significant roles like with Anand Akela in AAA, Aashiqui, Hum Hai Rahi Pyaar Ke, Lagaan and many others. You live with us through your films. RIP Javed Khan,” while another one tweeted, “So sad to hear about the passing away of Javed Khan aka Anand Akela from Andaz Apna Apna, Sukhlal from Chak De India, Ram Singh from Lagaan and many many more roles… Thank you for the entertainment Mr Khan!“
