There’s no better way to grab the audience’s (especially when they are Indians) attention by using Hindi film songs. After all, we Indians love cinema, sports and everything in between. Ahead of the US Presidential elections, to woo Indian-American voters, Democratic Party members have released a music video remix of popular ‘Chale Chalo’ song from Aamir Khan’s hit film ‘Lagaan’.
In the upcoming elections in the US, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and his Indian-American running mate Kamala Harris will be challenging Republican President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.
According to a report by PTI, the remixed song is crooned by Silicon Valley-based Bollywood Singer Titli Banerjee and released by entrepreneur couple Ajay and Vinita Bhutoria. Its revised lyrics goes like, “Chale Chalo, Chale Chalo, Biden ko Vote do, Biden ki Jeet Ho, Unki Haar Haan”.
You can check out the song below:
Speaking about the song upon its release, Bhutoria said, “It is a warfighting song, drawing from the energy of Indian celebrations, inspiring our community to awaken and vote for Biden-Harris in November.” Whereas the singer Titli Banerjee said, “I am glad that I was able to contribute through my voice in recreating that experience and hope that the message to go out and vote for the future of America reaches all Indian Americans.”
Interestingly, ‘Lagaan’ was nominated in the ‘Best International Film’ category in 2002. Well, Aamir and his fans will certainly be happy about ‘Chale Chalo’ song being used in the US election campaign.
On the work front, Aamir will be next seen in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, which is the remake Hollywood classics, ‘Forrest Gump’.
