The new poster of Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Laila Majnu’ is all things romantic- view pic

Ekta Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Laila Majnu’ has been hitting the headlines for a long time now. Initially, the movie featuring Tripti Dhimri, Mir Sarwar, and Avinash Tiwary, was slated to release on May 4, however, due to the reasons known to the makers, it got pushed to August 24.

After much delay, the trailer for ‘Laila Majnu’ will be out tomorrow. Announcing the same, producer Ekta Kapoor also unveiled a new poster of the film. The new poster features the lead pair, Tripti and Avinash, in a romantic backdrop.

Earlier in an interview with The Indian Express, Imtiaz Ali had mentioned that ‘Laila Majnu’ is placed in Kashmir. He added, “I never considered having a different title for ‘Laila Majnu’ because the film is actually a very faithful rendition of the famous Laila Majnu set just in the modern time and placed in Kashmir. The setting is so because Kashmir gives the exotic backdrop to the film. The actors playing Laila and Majnu in this film are new, so it was more important for us to get the title so that those actors could also go by the names ‘Laila’ and ‘Majnu’ for a while before they get to be known by their original names.”

Produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Preety Ali, the film will hit the silver screens on August 24.
