‘Laxmii’: Makers release an enticing poster featuring Kiara Advani and Akshay Kumar with the new title

The makers of ‘Laxmii’ shared the latest poster of the film with the new title. The poster features Kiara Advani and Akshay Kumar. Sharing the new poster of the film on Twitter, Akshay wrote, “Ab harr ghar mein aayegi #Laxmii! Ghar waalon ke saath taiyaar rehna 9th November ko!Star-struck” (sic) .

‘Laxmii’ was earlier titled ‘Laxmmi Bomb’. The film went for a Censor Board screening and post the screening the makers had a discussion with CBFC. The producers of the film – Shabinaa Khan, Tusshar Kapoor and Akshay Kumar decided to change the title of their film. The decision came after there were protests by the Karni Sena objecting the title and keeping in mind the sentiments of the people, the title was modified. The objection was due to the use of the word ‘bomb’ with ‘Laxmi’ which is the name of one of the goddesses worshipped in the Hindu religion.

‘Laxmii’ is slated to release on Disney+ Hotstar on November 9. It is a remake of the Tamil blockbuster ‘Muni 2: Kanchana’. Raghava Lawrence, who had helmed the Tamil version has also directed ‘Laxmii’. The remake also stars Tusshar Kapoor, Sharad Kelkar, and Ashwini Kalsekar.
