This evening, legendary actor Dilip Kumar was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. The thespian has been suffering from a kidney ailment. He was rushed to the hospital early this evening and was kept under observation in the ICU.
Dr Jalil Parkar, who is attending on the 94-year-old actor said, “He has been afflicted with anuria and needed hospitalisation. He is under observation.”
However, later at night, he was shifted to a normal room and had dinner with his family as well. This morning, he was scheduled to be taken to ICU for some tests and injection of antibiotics through IV drops. After a few hours of observation, he would be shifted back to his normal cabin again.
Hospital sources confirmed that the actor is now stable.
Dilip Kumar has been unwell for quite some time. Last December he was admitted to Lilavati hospital after having fever and swelling in his right leg. Later, he had taken to Twitter to update on his health, and his fans and followers were relieved to see him doing well.
The actor who is married to actress Saira Banu has been a proud recipient of Padma Bhushan (1991), Dadasaheb Phalke Award (1994) and India’s second highest civilian award, Padma Vibhushan (2015).
