Liger trailer: Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday prepare to storm theatres with the impactful actioner

Vijay Deverakonda became a nationwide star after his stint in the 2017 film Arjun Reddy. Soon, when the film was remade in Hindi, the success of it made people go back to watch the Telugu original and his popularity just grew even further. So, naturally, when it was announced that the actor will be making his Hindi film debut with the pan-Indian film Liger opposite Ananya Panday, people were extremely excited. The makers of the film had given some intriguing little glimpses from the film in over the last 7 months, and as they unveiled the trailer of Liger today, it lived up to all the hype that had been created till now.

The team of Liger reached Hyderabad last night to launch the film’s trailer there today. The film features Vijay Deverakonda opposite Ananya Panday, and the chemistry that the two share has to be one of the biggest highlights of the trailer. Liger not only marks Vijay’s Hindi film debut but also Ananya’s foray down South and the actress looks all set to make a smashing entry there.

The USP of the film is that it’s India’s first Mix Martial Arts action film and director Puri Jagannadh has portrayed it quite efficiently, introducing a new world to the Indian cinema. The intense action glimpses shown in previous video properties from the film, just became all the more grand in the trailer, especially with the addition of Mike Tyson.

Vijay has imbibed the character of an underdog who rises from the slums of Mumbai and goes on to fight in the biggest arenas. The role seems to be tailor-made for him. The attitude that is required from him, just comes out so efficiently. The trailer of Liger is definitely a treat for Vijay’s fans. The makers haven’t given much away in the trailer but it’s evident that the mother-son relationship between Ramya Krishnan and Vijay will form a major crux of the story. As for the rest of the grand action in the film, it’s surely going to be a spectacle on the big screen.

Alongside Vijay, Ananya and Mike Tyson, Liger also features Ronit Roy and Ramya Krishnan. Directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, Charmme Kaur and Apoorva Mehta, Liger releases theatrically pan-India on August 25, 2022 in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
