Lisa Ray shares unfiltered selfie; asks, “Do we have the courage to be seen as we are?”

In the glamour world, one thing that everyone has to follow is to be always appealing and attractive. Your face becomes your identity and unfortunately, people fail to look beyond that. What they don’t understand is that ones’ look and appearance should not be the barometer to gauge someone’s talent.

In the time when the line outside the cosmetic surgery clinics is increasing with every passing minute (most of them are of course celebs), actress Lisa Ray shared her unfiltered and no makeup selfie on Instagram and asked,  “Do we have the courage to be seen as we are?”

Not everyone in the industry is courageous enough to show their real self to the world, Lisa did that uninhibitedly. The actress had had her share of doubts when she was younger but now she won’t let the outer beauty define her worth. And that in itself is such a courageous and inspiring thing to do.

Sharing her no-makeup selfie, Lisa wrote, “That’s me at 47, free and unfiltered. Do we have the courage to be seen as we are? I did not when I was younger. Not everyone will recognize your worth, but love your skin and the stories it tells, your experiences, your essence- know your worth woman!- and the world will reflect back your radiance. (And if it doesn’t, fuck it. You’re lovable and perfect regardless)

Thank you Lisa for inspiring all of us. We hope more actresses will follow the suit and would love being in their own skin at least when they are off-screen.

Lisa’s post made her fans and friends marvel at her. Soon Lisa’s fans and colleagues showered her with praises. Shibani Dandekar wrote, “Beautiful in every way”. Whereas a fan wrote, “I wish at 47 I am like this. Lisa, you are beautiful in and out”
