Loveyapa director Advait Chandan CONFIRMS Aamir Khan’s cameo in Junaid Khan & Khushi Kapoor’s romantic drama

Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor are set to share the screen with Aamir Khan in the upcoming romantic comedy film, Loveyapa. This film marks the silver screen debuts of both actors. Directed by Advait Chandan, the story centres around their characters, who are eager to get married. However, their Gen Z love story takes an unexpected twist when the bride’s father challenges them to swap their phones for 24 hours.

Junaid Khan-Khushi Kapoor to share screen space with Aamir Khan in Loveyapa

In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, director Advait Chandan confirmed that Aamir Khan will make a cameo appearance in Loveyapa. Chandan stated, “He does. He’s there for two shots. When you watch the film, you’ll definitely see him.”

Chandan also shared his initial concerns regarding the casting of Junaid and Khushi. He admitted, “My problem was that I was not sure of Junaid and Khushi’s casting. I had never met Khushi before and I was unsure if Junaid would be the right fit for the role.” However, after working closely with them during rehearsals, he gained confidence in their chemistry and abilities.

The director praised both Khan and Kapoor for their professionalism, noting, “Junaid is very different from his character Gucci. He had to work very hard to find the Gaurav inside him.”

Media reports indicate that Loveyapa will be available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. It will be following its theatrical release, although an official announcement regarding the OTT release is still awaited. In an interview with Indian Express, Junaid Khan expressed his desire to release the film on YouTube for free to maximize its audience reach. He stated, “I would like our film to reach as wide an audience as possible… our producers and distributors have a better understanding of how this film can reach a wider audience — be it theatre, OTT or television.” Mark your calendars! Loveyapa is set to hit theaters on February 7, 2025.
