Manoj Muntashir is one of the most sought-after lyricists of the music industry. He had penned songs like ‘Galliyan’, ‘Tere Sang Yaara’, ‘Kaun Tujhe’, ‘Dil Meri Na Sune’, ‘Phir Bhi Tumko Chaahunga’ and ‘Teri Mitti’ and the latest is ‘Dil Tod Ke’ that is crooned by B Praak.
Recently, we had a conversation with Manoj where he said that he turned into poet because of his first heartbreak. He said, “My first heartbreak happened when I was in 12th standard and that is actually what made me a poet. My girlfriend came to me and asked me to return all the letters and photographs. When I asked the reason, she said her father didn’t like me. That was the first time when I wrote my first ‘nazm’.”
Manoj feels that heartbreak is not a bad thing as we get energy when things break. “Agar dil toota hain, toh bohot sari energy paida hoti hain,” said Manoj.
