Chak De! India, Made In Heaven 2 actor Rio Kapadia passes away due to cancer at age 66

Veteran actor Rio Kapadia is no more. Yes, Rio has passed away at the age of 66 after a long battle with cancer. He was one of the most loved actors in the industry. Over the years, he appeared in films like Shah Rukh Khan starrer Chak De! India, Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani, and Happy New Year. He was recently seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Made In Heaven second season. Rio Kapadia played the role of Mrunal Thakur’s father in Made In Heaven Season 2.

Rio Kapadia passes away

It was Rio’s friend Faisal Malik who shared the news of his death. Rio’s funeral will take place tomorrow i.e. September 15 at Shiv Dham Shamshan Bhumi in Goregoan. He is survived by his wife Maria and their kids Veer and Aman.

Rio acted in many movies in his career. The veteran actor was also a part of Aamir Khan starrer Dil Chahta Hai, Shree, Agent Vinod, and Khuda Haafiz among others. He was last seen in Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti’s Made In Heaven season 2.

Fans are heartbroken. Reacting to the sad news, a fan commented, “Rest in peace Sir.” Another one commented on his latest post, “RIP sir.” “It’s so strange when a familiar face on the screen is now no more. Tragic! Om Shanti Sir,” wrote a fan.

On the other hand, his last Instagram post dates back to June 5. The actor had shared photos from his European trip. The photos show him posing with his family members.
