Priyanka Chopra’s Purple Pebble Pictures’ Marathi movie ‘Paani’ has been chosen as the Best Film on Environment Conservation. Priyanka’s mom Madhu Chopra, who is also a co-producer of the movie, is on cloud nine. Expressing her happiness, she said that she is feeling proud that this is the second movie to get the National Award after ‘Ventilator’.
She further said, “Priyanka (Chopra), Siddharth (son) along with Adinath Kothare have created this wonderful film. Based on a true-life struggle to bring water to a parched dry village.”
For the unversed, ‘Paani’ is inspired by the true story of a man living in a village named Nagdarwadi, Maharashtra that is prone to drought.
‘Paani’ is Priyanka’s fourth Marathi movie. Earlier, she has produced movies like ‘Ventilator’, ‘Kay Re Rascalaa’ and ‘Firebrand’. The main focus of Purple Pebble Pictures is mainly on regional cinema. Apart from Marathi, they have also ventured into Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Nepali and Assamese films.
We congratulate Priyanka Chopra, her mom Madhu and the entire team of Purple Pebble Pictures on the feat.
