Producer Madhu Mantena is going to back epic ‘Ramayana’ that is said to be made on a budget of Rs 600 crore. The project has been in the writing phase for a year. The film is also said to be released in 2D as well as 3D format and will release in three languages — Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, as a three-part series.
Along with Madhu Mantena, ‘Ramayana’ will be produced by other film producers like Allu Aravind and Namit Malhotra. It is their first collaboration together to make India’s most ambitious project. Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ was made on a whopping budget of Rs 300 crore. Also, Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer ‘2.0’, is said to be the most expensive Indian films by far as it was made on a budget of Rs 550 crore.
Madhu Mantena is known for his works in movies like ‘Udta Punjab’, ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’, ‘Ghajini’ and others. The makers earlier told that it’s a huge responsibility for them as they need to show the epic in the most magnificent way. Mantena had earlier said that he has got the inspiration by the work of Ananth Pai (Uncle Pai) of the popular Amar Chitra Katha comics.
‘Ramayana’ is still being written and we hope to witness the movie soon on the silver screens. Also, Aamir Khan’s ‘Mahabharata’ is another big project with a budget of Rs 1,000 crore.
