About Dil Toh Pagal Hai
The film starred Madhuri Dixit, Shah Rukh Khan and Karisma Kapoor in pivotal roles. Yash Chopra had narrated the script for the role to four other actresses, including Juhi Chawla, Manisha Koirala, Urmila Matondkar and Kajol before Karisma. However, all the four divas turned down the offer. During her appearance on the singing reality show ‘Indian Idol’ in 2021, Karisma shared, “Every single heroine refused the film (Dil To Pagal Hai). The role came to me…it was a dance film and that too working opposite Madhuri Dixit. Initially, I too said no to it as it was a dance film and competing in dance with Madhuri Dixit. I said, ‘This isn’t happening’. Then finally, Yash ji and Adi (Yash Chopra and Aditya Chopra) narrated the story to me. My mother told me, ‘You must take up the challenge. You are a big fan of Madhuri Dixit, you must do it. You work hard and you will shine’.”
On the work front, Karisma Kapoor was last seen in Murder Mubarak, while Madhuri Dixit appeared in the Marathi film Panchak.
