Actress Madhuri Dixit made her digital debut with Netflix’s The Fame Game. She played Anamika Anand and is currently basking in the success of the show. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Madhuri opened up on what fame
means to her, the overwhelming response to the show, and also about the big move from USA to India, her kids and a lot more.

She said that she enjoys all kind of roles be it mother, wife or daughter. “I think I enjoy all my roles whether I am with my kids, on set I am trying to give it my best, I am a daughter so I am trying to do best for my parents. So, I think for me it’s not that hard. I can switch from different things. Like when I am on set, then I am completely on the set and I am concentrating on what I am doing, all the emotions and everything. As soon as I walk into the door of my house, everything is left outside the door. I walk into the house completely free of what I have done all day long and immerse myself with my family. For me that’s life. My kids are my legacy. So, for me I enjoy every minute of every role that I have,” said Dixit.

When asked if it was difficult to live up to the expectations, Madhuri said, “Expectations are always hard to bear because I don’t know what the expections are going to be. But when I am doing a role I am going to think about it as. Like when I played Anamika Anand I was just thinking of myself how I would I be if I was Anamika Anand. Not because there are lots of expectations of me from people, but I just thought this is the role, so that’s my thought process When I am on the set I am immersed and creating this character. I try to do my best and then whatever comes out of it is what people see. So, to do that at the best of ability is important at that moment.”

Madhuri’s decision to relocate to India with her husband Dr Shriram Nene and their sons Ryan and Arin in 2011 took everyone by surprise We asked her if she was apprehensive of the media attention her kids would get, she said, “It was a big decision in life to come back because we thought about it a lot. My parents were getting old. They wanted to come back to India. They didn’t want to live there and so it was a big decision for me. Also, I think it’s great that I came here because my kids got to see how people live because where they are in the USA, there are in their own bubble. They don’t know what’s happening outside. But once they came they realised there’s much bigger world out there and people live differently in different parts of the world. Even when the media scrutiny is concerned, it just unconsciously happened that we didn’t want too much of media attention on the kids. We wanted them to grow at their own space, in their own time, do whatever they wanted to do. So, I am glad we did that.”

The diva added, “My kids, the older one is so interested in music and he is a good musician. They also love science. So, I think my kids have got a little bit of both of us and it’s interesting. So, I have been lucky in that sense.”
