Madhuri speaks about her series

We all know that there’s an American TV series being made on the life of our very own dhak-dhak girl, Madhuri Dixit. The show will be backed by none other than our B-Town beauty Priyanka Chopra, the one who is hailing Indian flag in Hollywood. The series was officially announced just a few weeks ago, and now, finally, Madhuri has spoken about it.

The actress told DNA After Hrs, “I was pleasantly surprised in the summer of 2016 when Sri (Rao) said he wanted to do a series inspired by my life in America. As Ram (her husband) and I chatted with Sri, the story evolved and Mark Gordon Productions came on board, wanting to produce it.”

Later, PeeCee too came on board as a producer. Madhuri said, “Bringing on Priyanka was perfect in that she had experience with the landscape.”

The show has been picked up by the ABC network and is being developed for the US and international markets. Well, we are also quite excited to see Madhuri’s story on the small screen. (Also Read: Priyanka Chopra to produce American series based on the life of Madhuri Dixit)

Priyanka had earlier announced the series, on her Instagram account. She had written, “One of the favorite parts of my job, is to be able to tell stories across genres, languages and to a varied audience. Today I’m happy to share with you another step I’ve taken on that creative journey, in my role as a producer. This particular story is one of a few Hollywood projects that I am currently developing.
The incredible Madhuri Dixit’s real life has been the inspiration behind Sri Rao’s amazing story, and I can’t wait to work with the both of them to see how this will pan out. Again, it’s unchartered territory for me, producing a show for American television but I’m blessed to have a great set of partners in Mark Gordon Company’s Mark Gordon and Nick Pepper, along with ABC Studios to develop and produce this very fun idea. After having an incredible experience with them on Quantico, this seemed like a perfect extension of our partnership. I’ve only just begun and there is little I can share at this point about any of the projects but I’m looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting to work. Stay tuned.
