Madhuri has indeed replaced Sridevi, but the title of the movie is NOT ‘Shiddat’, confirms Karan

Today, Janhvi Kapoor revealed that actress Madhuri Dixit Nene has been roped in to fill in for her late mother and veteran actress Sridevi in Karan Johar’s next production venture. Sridevi was supposed to star in this project which was planned to go on floors in the month of April.

Directed by Abhishek Verman of ‘2 States’ fame, the cast and official name of this project was still to be announced. There were reports been heard that this project is titled ‘Shiddat’. But, today Karan Johar has cleared the air over the title clarifying that this is not titled ‘Shiddat’. He took to his Twitter handle to clarify this news writing, “Some clarifications!!! Yes…we are honoured and humbled to have @MadhuriDixit on board for @abhivarman ‘s next! NO the film is NOT titled SHIDHAT! Yes the film will Commence shoot in mid April! The films final cast and credits will be announced soon!”

Reportedly, this film will star Sanjay Dutt, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur.

But, let’s wait for an official confirmation from the makers.
