The Bombay High Court, recently, pronounced its verdict on superstar Salman Khan‘s Hit And Run case, acquitting him from all the charges levied against the star. The prosecution failed to prove that Salman Khan was behind the wheel and was driving the car in a drunk state when the fatal accident took place. In 2002, Salman Khan’s luxury car slammed over the pavement killing one and injuring many. Since then, the hearings on this case were being carried out. Earlier, the session court had punished Salman with five-year imprisonment under the charges of ‘Culpable Homicide Not Amounting to Murder.’ The Bombay High Court recently acquitted him from all the charges giving him a clean chit in the Hit And Run Case.
A recent update over the same states that Maharashtra Government is now planning to take this case to the Supreme Court. According to the reports, State Government now plans to file a Special Leave Petition in Supreme Court against the star. The division bench consisting of Justice Abhay Oka and Justice Gautam Patel was informed about this progress by the Government Pleader A.B Vagyani. The Government Pleader informed the judges that they have received a sanction to file a Special Leave Petition in the Supreme Court against the verdict of the Bombay High Court.
This came in the response to the court’s question on what is next course of action of the Government over the issue of the negligence of the police officers in this case. Instead, the State Government replied that they are planning to challenge the judgement of The Bombay High Court and will soon file a petition against the star in Supreme Court.
