Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Jalebi’ to clash with Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Stree’

The release date of Vishesh Films’ upcoming movie, ‘Jalebi- The Everlasting Taste Of Love’ has been announced and it will clash with the Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer ‘Stree’ and Rishi Kapoor starrer Rajma Chawal. All the films are scheduled to release on August 31.

The film stars Rhea Chakraborty and marks the debut of Varun Mitra and television actress Digangana Suryavanshi, who has starred in TV shows like ‘Qubool Hai’ and ‘Veera’, in Bollywood. (Also Read: Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ to not lock horns with ‘Stree’ at the box office?)

The announcement of ‘Jalebi’s release date was made on Twitter by Vishesh Films. The tweet read as, “Excited and elated to announce the release date of ‘Jalebi- The Everlasting Taste Of Love’, starring @Tweet2Rhea & debutant #VarunMitra. Some days back, Mahesh Bhatt had introduced us to the team on ‘Jalebi’ by sharing a tweet. Here is what he wrote:

‘Jalebi- The Everlasting Taste Of Love’ is directed by Pushpdeep Bhardhwaj and written by Kausar Munir and will be produced by Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt under Vishesh Films.

There was another Bollywood film release on the same day, it was the Shraddha Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’. Since ‘Stree’ also star Shraddha, the makers of ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ have reportedly, decided to push the film by a week to avoid the clash.
