Mahima Chaudhry says ‘I wasn’t brave’ as she opens on battling cancer

Mahima Chaudhry, who opened up about her breast cancer diagnosis earlier this year, spoke about battling the disease at a recent event. The actress was spotted at the Uunchai special screening with her daughter. Speaking with Instant Bollywood, Mahima spoke about battling cancer and stated that she wasn’t brave and was inspired by people around her.

The actress said, “I wasn’t brave. It looked like I was brave but I wasn’t brave. I keep taking inspiration from people around me and everyone should do.”

Mahima went on to add that she now has to wear a wig. She said, “My wig looks good. I have to continuously wear a hat and style. So struggling with things like that.” The actress is now cancer free.

For the uninitiated, Mahima’s condition was revealed by actor Anupam Kher on Instagram. The actress got teary eyed while talking about her battle with cancer in the video. The veteran actor had shared the video on his Instagram along with the caption, “Story of @mahimachaudhry1’s courage and Cancer: I called #MahimaChaudhry a month back from US to play a very important role in my 525^th film #TheSignature. Our conversation turned to her discovering that she has #BreastCancer. What followed is in this candid conversation between us. Her attitude will give hope to so many women all over the world. She wanted me to be part of her disclosing about it. She calls me an eternal optimist but dearest Mahima! “You are my HERO!”. The veteran actor then asked fans to send their love and prayers.

The actress will be making a comeback with Anupam Kher’s next film, The Signature. She also has Emergency in her kitty.
