Malaika Arora Khan and Arbaaz Khan are headed for a divorce and have decided to part ways after 18 years of marriage. The divorce proceedings for the same have already started.
The couple recently attended their first mandatory counselling session on Tuesday morning at Bandra family court, which also had the marriage counsellor and the judge.
And according to recent reports, this counselling session was the only one before their final hearing. The hearing will now take place on May 11 next year. That means that the two have now been given six months more to think about their decision and give their marriage a second chance.
A source revealed, “During the counselling session on Tuesday, Malaika and Arbaaz spent a few hours talking to the judge, and then the counsellor joined in towards the end. Usually a couple is asked to reconsider their decision before they part ways. They are also questioned about why they wish to separate, if they’re doing it on their own will and what would be the monetary and other terms of divorce. The same questions were asked to Malaika and Arbaaz and both of them handled the matter maturely.“
