Malaika Arora: Never felt objectified while doing item numbers

Bollywood actress Malaika Arora is a magnificent beauty, isn’t she? The diva is in great shape and spends most of her time in the gym and is extremely strict about her diet. Malaika has always been known for her dance moves and can (without any doubt) be called the No 1 item girl of Bollywood.

Malaika Arora though has said she has never felt objectified while doing item numbers. The ‘Chaiyaan Chaiyaan’ girl said, “I have always said that we shouldn’t tag them or label them as item songs. I have done so many songs and one thing that I would like to share is that I never felt objectified in any of the songs.”

The diva further elaborated her point and said, “I have done all the songs willingly. I have done the songs knowing what the situation is. But if anybody does feel objectified with the songs then it is important for them to come forward and speak. But personally speaking, I loved the experience of doing all the songs.”

Bollywood sometimes has been accused of getting carried away in the name of the item numbers and inadvertently they (item songs) come across as vulgar and cheap.

Malaika expressed her views while interacting with the media at the launch of Sophie Choudry’s new single ‘Ajj naiyo sawna’. Sophie also reiterated Malaika’s point.

Malaika is also in the news for allegedly dating Arjun Kapoor. The duo have been spotted at various events and parties together and enjoy each others company. There are unconfirmed reports of the couple tying the knot in April.
