Malaika talks unabashedly about ex-hubby Arbaaz Khan, her single status and more

This year, one of the coolest couples of B-Town headed for splitsville. We are talking about Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan who had a divorce through mutual consent after 18 years of togetherness. But, in spite of a divorce, the two continue to remain friends. They have been spotted on various family outings, and recently, Malaika was instrumental in planning Arbaaz Khan’s 50th birthday bash. So, as their strong bonding post divorce manages to hog limelight, speculations are rife that the two are planning for a reconciliation.

Now finally, Malaika has opened up on ex-hubby Arbaaz Khan, her single status, and so on, in an interview with a leading daily. Said Malaika, “Arbaaz is a part of my family, the father of my child. Certain equations don’t change overnight. The things that happened should remain between us. It’s personal. We don’t have to prove anything to anybody. Meeting him makes my son happy, and that makes me happy. Come on! For Amu (sister Amrita Arora Ladak), he’s like a brother, and he is a son to my parents. She added, “Arbaaz and I have known each other all our lives. It was emotionally difficult, but we haven’t really talked about it because we are private individuals. He is very important to me. No matter what happens or where life takes us, Arbaaz will always be integral to my life.”

When asked about feeling single again and using ‘Khan’ on her Instagram account, she stated, “Yes, I do use Khan (laughs). God, I haven’t thought it [being single]. Honestly, it hasn’t been a conscious decision. What has to happen will happen organically. Let’s see where life takes me.”
