Former actress Mamta Kulkarni, who was accused by Mumbai Police of being involved in a drug racket and possessing drug worth Rs 2000 crore along with alleged husband Vicky Goswami, has opened up to a leading daily. She clarifies her stand on the issue and claims that the cops are framing her to use her mass-popularity
Mamta claimed that the only sum of money she is left with is what she earned during her career as an actress and that it would be sufficient for her to survive for the rest of her life. At the same time, she said that she only had a fixed deposit of Rs. 25 lakhs and nothing more.
She went on to emphasise that her sister lived in an ordinary flat in Mira Road and if she really owned Rs 2000 crore, that would not happen.
When her relationship with Jay Mukhi (the man who allegedly introduced her to drug racket) was questioned, she stated that she was only friends with him and nothing more.
After giving us several hits in the 90s and gaining fame as an actress, Mamta Kulkarni went on to become a yogini in 1995 and claims to have been living a spiritual life since then.
