EXCLUSIVE: Maniesh Paul opens up about his bond with Karan Johar: He gives me the privilege to joke with him

Maniesh Paul has a long history of working together with filmmaker Karan Johar. After working in Dharma Productions’ JugJugg Jeeyo, Maniesh is hosting dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10 where Karan Johar is one of the judges. Karan and Maniesh share a great camaraderie both on and off-screen. Recently, we sat with Paul for an interview where he spoke about his equation with KJo.

Maniesh said, “We don’t have to think twice before talking to each other, and making fun of each other. It comes naturally and the good part is that there is a huge respect angle and we never lose that and cross the line.”

He added, “I think there is a comfort level that sir bhi har ek ko nahi bolte ki ‘mere saath mazak kar lo’. Thanks to him, I am privileged that he gives me that chance. It’s organic and we don’t have to work hard on that. It comes normally.”

In the interview, the actor also promised that he will perform in the finale of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.

Earlier, in an interview with The Free Press Journal, Maniesh was all praise for Karan. He had said, “I always wished to work with him. I never realised that we would become such good friends, but I never misused that to get work from him. He knew what role to give me, and I had faith in him.”
