Ever since ‘Manikarnika’ went on floors, there has been some or the other controversy it has been falling into. First there was Ketan Mehta who opposed the film saying Kangana had hijacked a film which he was going to make, and turned it into her own production venture. Then, there was the case of Kangana wanting to reshoot major chunks of the movie to which director Krish and actor Sonu Sood protested. Sonu spoke up about the same and calmly decided to walk out of the project.
Krish hadn’t opened up about the fallout with Kangana yet, but after the movie released, he has now turned vocal in his protest against Kangana. During a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Krish blasted Kangana and said he would never work with her again.
“It’s become a habit for her (Kangana) now. Everybody told me about it when I was signing up for this film, but I didn’t realise then. I don’t know why the other directors didn’t speak out, but I have to. As soon as the movie has released, I have spoken up. It’s not something that the movie is getting great reviews. People do take sides always. Let them take sides with Kangana,” said Krish when asked about fans siding with her in the controversy.
He went on to also blast her for the whole Sonu Sood episode. “It really hurt me. She said, he didn’t want to work under a female director. But that wasn’t the case. Sonu called me and told me that Kangana and producer Kamal Jain were coming to meet him. I knew there were some changes to be done, and I told Sonu the same thing. But neither him nor I knew that they were going there to totally chop off his character. Late in the night, Sonu called me and told me that his character will only be in the first half and not in the second half. He was okay if I, as a director would convince him. Sonu also told me that Kangana told him that because I was busy shooting for another project, she was there to talk and she would be directing. I told Sonu that I am not directing that scene ever. However, next morning it came in the papers that Sonu doesn’t want to work with a female director. But that wasn’t the case. It wasn’t a case of female director. Had it been any xyz director, he would have done the same. Anyone would have done the same,” said Krish.
When asked whether he would work again with Kangana, Krish was very vocal about the same. “How can you ask me this question. I will not work with her. Kangana will only not work with me,” said Krish.
