Every movie buff still remembers Mani Ratnam’s classic cult film ‘Dil Se‘. The romantic thriller set against the backdrop of insurgency in North-east India was co-produced by Ratnam along with filmmakers Ram Gopal Varma and Shekhar Kapur. The film’s evergreen songs composed by A R Rahman are still loved by every music lover out there.
Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Manisha Koirala and Preity Zinta in lead roles, ‘Dil Se’ that released in 1998, has completed 20 years! Yes, its hard to believe that the film has completed two decades as its memories are still so fresh.
Marking the completion of 20 years of ‘Dil Se’, Manisha Koirala took to Instagram and reminisced the pure magic the film had created onscreen upon its release. The actress shared a collage of stills from the film along with the caption, “20 years of #dilse#puremagiconscreen #cultclassic#soulfullmusic #arrehman @iamsrk#maniratnam #manisgakoirala @realpz#santoshsivan #farahkhankunder ????♥?❣??❤??????????”

Pretty actress Preity Zinta marked her Bollywood debut with this film. Apart from the film’s engaging storyline and the terrific performance by its ensemble cast, the film’s soundtrack was a huge hit. There’s not a single song in the film that didn’t become a hit. Right from ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’, ‘Dil Se’ to ‘Aye Ajnabi’, every track still features on every music lovers playlist. The deadly jodi of lyricist Gulzar and composer Rahman gave one of their career best album with this film.
Interestingly, Manisha recently celebrated her 48th birthday in the presence of her ‘Dil Se’ co-star Shah Rukh Khan. It really felt so nice to see them reunite after so many years.
As far as this film is concerned then it will be remembered for decades to come.
