Manushi Chillar won the hearts of millions when she was crowned Miss World in 2017. A couple of years later, the beauty pageant winner made her big Bollywood debut by starring opposite Akshay Kumar in the historical action drama Samrat Prithviraj. After playing Princess Sanyogitato Akshay’s Prithviraj Chauhan, Manushi reunited with Akshay Kumar in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
Their romance in the movie 2022 movie directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi earned the film backlash owing to the 30-year age gap between Akki and Manushi. While in the recently released Tiger Shroff co-starrer they aren’t love interests, they do star opposite each other in a promotional song. In a recent chat, Manushi gets candid about the age gap issue and her views on it.
Manushi on sharing screen with Akshay despite huge age gap
During an interaction with Zoom, Manushi said that the age gap doesn’t bother her. She believes Akshay is a superstar and working with him gives her a certain amount of visibility and learning. “Working with a superstar is good. You get a certain amount of visibility. If I talk about my first film, there was an age gap. They wanted to play the whole thing. In this film (Bade Miyan Chote Miyan), there was no pairing. We did songs for marketing. So they had to put two people together for the songs, but that’s pretty much it, which is fine. I don’t see it as something that was atrocious or something that shouldn’t have been there. It wasn’t like a love story anyway,” Manushi Chillar stated.
Manushi Chillar began her career in the film industry with Samrat Prithviraj and then starred in The Great Indian Family starring Vicky Kaushal which did not do well on the big screen. The former Miss World will soon be seen in Tehran alongside John Abraham. This actioner is being directed by Arun Gopalan.
