‘Mardaani 2’: Rani Mukerji’s first look from the gritty cop drama will leave you wanting for more

Versatile actress Rani Mukerji made her fans rejoice when she returned to the silver screen with Siddharth Malhotra’s ‘Hichki’ (2018). Now, after the success of her last film which saw her playing a teacher suffering from Tourette syndrome, Rani will be seen in a cop’s avatar. Yes, the actress is back with the sequel of her critically acclaimed film ‘Mardaani‘.

Rani had delivered an outstanding performance in the superhit ‘Mardaani’ in which she took on the kingpin of a human-trafficking racket. In the film’s sequel, the actress will be seen as a Superintendent of Police who is locked in a vicious battle with a 21-year old merciless villain.

Rani will be locked in a game of cat and mouse with the villain who is extremely clever and knows no mercy or empathy. Talking about the film’s antagonist, Rani told a leading daily, “Shivani will face a cold, merciless villain who has no empathy, no fear of God and is pure evil. The character has been written superbly and I’m excited to find out who the actor will be.”

‘Mardaani 2’ marks the directorial debut of Gopi Puthran, writer of the first instalment of this franchise. Produced by Aditya Chopra, this will be Rani’s next release which everyone is eagerly looking forward to watching. Reportedly, ‘Mardaani 2’ will hit the theatres by the end of this year.
