Out of the many people who lauded the Supreme Court’s decision of banning fire crackers in Delhi and areas around, this Diwali, one was fashion designer Masaba Mantena (Gupta). Given the latest social media trends, one almost foresees trolling coming his way. But the taste in which Twitter attacked Masaba is not only questionable but is condemnable too.

This retweet in support of the Supreme Court’s decision led people to advice her to go back to her ‘fatherhood’ (West Indies, from where her biological father Viv Richards hails). Part of Twitterati apparently also called her names like ‘bastard child’ and ‘illegitimate West Indian’. But she’s not the one to give up to morons. This morning, she took back to social media and hit back at trolls. ” I’m the illegitimate product of two of the MOST legitimate personalities you’ll find and I’ve made the best life… both personally and professionally… out of it which I’m proud of,” she wrote.
