Diet Sabya, an anonymous Instagram handle, had recently called out ace fashion designer Masaba Gupta for copying the packaging of her latest collection (nail paints and lipsticks). She had collaborated with the popular beauty brand Nykaa. Accusing the designer of plagiarism, the page shared a video of the latest Masaba collection lipstick and captioned it as, “Is the @masabagupta x @mynykaa packaging a little too inspired by @sephora ‘Lip Stories’?”
Now, responding to the accusations, Masaba issued an open letter on her Instagram handle. After more than a week, the designer has clarified the whole thing with details.
Here’s Diet Sabya’s post.

“The 12 prints you see on the Masaba by Nykaa are all original house of Masaba prints. Some dating back to 2009 that some of you may remember. From then until now, which marks 10 years of my label-we have never been called out because the work we have done is ABSOLUTELY ORIGINAL,” she wrote in the open letter.

For the unversed, Diet Sabya always calls out designers, film stars, stylists and brands for copying outfits if they find them copying other brands.
